Frequently Asked Questions And Answers

Q : How does Auto Seal seal a hole in the thread area of the tyre ?
A : Auto Seal is drawn to the area of the escaping air. As the tyre rotates and strike the surface of the road, the hole is stretched open and polyethylene particulates enter in the cavity. The fibre wrap around the polyethylene and form a plug. The fluids evaporate from the outer surface resulting in flexible plug.

Q : How dos Auto Seal prevent rim and bead leaks ?
A : The escape of high air pressure from the tyre into the atmosphere draws gums and particles to the area of the escaping air. The leak is thus located and sealed.

Q : Should puncturing objects be removed even though the tyre isn't losing air ?
A : Always. The Auto Seal has effectively sealed around the penetrating object but if the object is left in the tyre, it will move in the tyre as the tyre rotates and will eventually create a larger and larger hole until air loss is suffered and the tyre is damaged.

Q : Must a tyre be driven after a penetrating object has been removed ?
A : Yes. Auto Seal covers the area of the cavity left by the removal of the object but it has not entered the puncture. The tyre must be driven on the vehicle in order to open the cavity to permit the entrance of Auto Seal.

Q : Will Auto Seal settle ?
A : No. Auto Seal is a hormogeneous mixture with the ingredients bonded together in such a manner that is impossible for the ingredients to settle.

Q : Does Auto Seal react chemically with the rubber tyre ?
A : Not at all, Auto Seal is chemically inert.

Q : Is Auto Seal affected by extreme air and ground temperatures ?
A : Auto Seal has been tested to -35 defree F, and did not freeze. Furthermore, the tyre sealant will remain in a stable condition under heat so extreme that the tyre itself will disintegrate.

Q : Is Auto Seal water dispersable ?
A : Yes, since here is no chemical bonding of Auto Seal to the tyre, it can easily be removed by hosing it out. This is important because a tyre may be cleaned, recapped and re-treated with Auto Seal.

Q : Will the flexible plug created by Auto Seal dissolve when driven in rain or sun ?
A : No. The plug is actually made of various particles that are not water soluble. Tyres treated with Auto Seal can be driven anywhere untreated tyres can.

Q : Will Auto Seal rust the rim of the tyre ?
A : Not at all. Auto Seal contains three anticorrosive agents to prevent corrosion from occuring.

Q : Can Auto Seal be used in a tube tyre ?
A : Yes. However, it is vital to remove the penetrating object if the tyre is punctured. Failure to do so will result in the object flexing in the tyre and shredding the tube until it is destroyed.

Q : Can I pump against a tyre pressure of 100lbs with the Auto Seal pump ?
A : Yes. Auto Seal has a pnuematic pump designed to pump sealant into higher pressure tyres.

Q : Will Auto Seal seal a puncture in the sidewalls of the tyre ?
A : No. There is too much flexing in the thin sidewalls and a temporary plug would be a safety factor.

Q : Is Auto Seal covered by warranty ?
A : Yes, our company provides a comprehensive product warranty.
